CBR machine is used to test soil and concrete samples via CBR/UCS/ITS/MARSHALL programs therefore a 3 in one unit
Prepare the Equipment
Place the CBR testing machine on a stable, level surface.Ensure the machine is clean and in good working condition.
Check that the load indicator or digital display is functioning correctly.Verify that the penetration plunger, proving ring or load cell, and displacement gauge are properly installed and calibrated.
Prepare the Soil Sample
Compact the soil into the standard CBR mould at the specified moisture content and density.
If required, soak the specimen in water for the prescribed period (typically 96 hours) with surcharge weights in place.After soaking, allow excess water to drain before testing.
Install the Specimen
Place the mould containing the soil specimen on the machine’s lower platen.Position the surcharge weights on top of the specimen if required by the test standard.Align the penetration plunger directly over the centre of the soil specimen.
Set the Gauges
Conduct the TestStart the machine.
Start the machine.Apply the penetration load at the standard rate of 1.27 mm per minute (0.05 in/min).
Hand protection must be worn while using this equipment.
This equipment creates dust. Wear a suitable mask.
Eye protection must be worn while using this equipment.
