Select a Suitable Location
Choose firm, stable ground.Avoid soft, loose, or uneven surfaces where possible.
Extend the Tripod Legs
Loosen the wing-nut leg clamps.Extend each telescopic leg to the required height.Extend the larger leg sections first for maximum stability.Tighten all leg clamps securely.
Position the Tripod:
Spread the legs evenly until the tripod is stable.Press the steel pointed feet firmly into the ground.Adjust the leg lengths so the tripod head is approximately level.
Mount the Instrument:
Carefully place the surveying instrument on the flat tripod head.Align the instrument with the 5/8-inch mounting thread.
Tighten the mounting screw until the instrument is secure.Do not overtighten, as this may damage the mounting thread.
