Prepare the tool: Check the router, battery and accessories for damage. Wear safety glasses, hearing protection and suitable respiratory protection.
Fit the router bit: Remove the battery. Lock the spindle and use the correct wrench to fit a compatible 6 mm or 8 mm shank bit. Tighten securely according to the manual.
Set the cutting depth: Release the base adjustment lever, set the required depth using the adjustment mechanism and lock the base securely.
Set the speed: Adjust the variable-speed dial according to the bit, material and cutting operation. Start conservatively when working with unfamiliar materials.
Connect dust extraction: Fit the dust adapter and connect a suitable extractor where practical.
Secure the workpiece: Clamp the timber or panel firmly and check that the bit will not contact clamps or other obstructions.
Start the router: Insert the battery and activate the safety and motor switches in the prescribed sequence. Allow the bit to reach operating speed before contacting the material.
Make the cut: Hold the router firmly with the base flat on the workpiece. Move it steadily in the correct direction for the cut, without forcing the tool or taking an excessively deep cut.
Complete the cut: Move the router clear of the workpiece while the bit is still rotating, then switch it off. Wait for the bit to stop completely before setting the tool down.
